Two decades of press, documentaries and public engagement, and where to find the originals.
I have been covered by the South Korean and Japanese press since 2004, when I was six. What began as coverage of a child has become, over two decades, a long public record: documentaries, interviews, and the occasional front page. This is where the key originals live. For the most part the media was in Korean or Japanese, while this website is in English throughout: I am based in Europe and work across the UK and the USA, so English is the one language that reaches all of them. That is also why, from 2026 onwards, I will be focusing entirely on English-language outlets with a global audience, principally in the UK and the USA. I am always happy to share my journey.

Original newspaper scans, in full. These are from 2005 and 2006, when South Korean news still lived mostly on paper; there is no online version to link to, so the scans are the record. Both are English-language pieces, which makes them unusual: the great majority of my coverage is in Korean.

Coverage
Since 2004, my journey & work have been documented across television, radio and print in Korea and Japan: more than 500 appearances in total, including these outlets shown below. The most heavily documented stretches were 2004–2007, 2008–2011, 2015, and 2018; outside those years I have done comparatively little, being very deep in work and study, and life took its own course as well.

Outreach
I like explaining things, and I learn best by teaching. I am glad to hear from journalists, producers, conference organisers and schools, particularly for anything on neutrinos, machine learning in the physical sciences, quantum computing, or what an unusual education actually looks like from the inside. I have given talks many times at science museums, symposia and expos.
From 2026 onwards, two collaborations I would especially like to make happen in London: with the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum, both a few minutes from the Imperial campus, and with the Institute of Physics or the Royal Astronomical Society. I have spoken informally with organisers at both about this.
You can also get in touch with Imperial’s outreach activities directly. Imperial physics professors sometimes film documentaries and take part in radio, podcasts and so on, and I would like to be added in: if you are one of the people responsible, reach out!
On language, my preference is English, since the audience for this sort of thing is usually international and multicultural. I can work in Korean or, with some limitations, even in French where that suits the audience better.
On logistics, travel is easy: I can film or speak almost anywhere in the world, usually at short notice. Do feel free to invite me to events and talks on any continent.
